ONVIF Camera Compatibility › About

About & Data Method

Source. The single source for this site is ONVIF's official conformant products database — the same list every vendor cites when a box says "ONVIF certified". We pull the full export on a fixed schedule; every product page records the certified firmware, the conformance tool version, the test date, and each earlier retest round.

Shape. A (company, model) pair can appear many times in the raw export — once per conformance round. We deduplicate to one page per model, keep the latest round as the record of truth, and list the earlier rounds as retest history. Categories are normalized from 250+ free-text labels into eight browsable categories.

Coverage & gaps. Coverage is as good as the database: products that never went through ONVIF testing are not here (many small PoE camera makers skip the program), and NVR third-party compatibility policies — the most common real-world failure — are vendor behavior, not ONVIF facts. We treat that split honestly in the NVR guide: the database tells you the camera's floor, the vendor's guidance tells you the ceiling.

Affiliate disclosure. Product links may be Amazon affiliate links (tag onvcam-20); that never affects which products appear or how they are sorted.

Contact & corrections: contact page. We are not affiliated with ONVIF or any listed manufacturer.
